چکیده
Aim: To evaluate the early postoperative hearing results after Incudo-stapedial rebridging versus partial ossicular replacement prosthesis application in cases of incudo-stapedial discontinuity due to chronic suppurative otitis media.Study Design: A prospective randomized comparative clinical trial.Place and Duration Study: Otolaryngology Department, Tanta University, Egypt from January 2018 June 2021.Methodology: Inclusion criterion was with CSOM ABG more than 30 dB adequate cochlear reserve. Study population were sixty consecutive erosion 2-millimeter gap. Thirty them candidates for using tragal cartilage strip graft glass ionomer bone cement. The other thirty patients PORP. Tympanoplasty done each case two groups.Main Outcome Measures: assessment following surgical procedures. Results: Postoperative air conduction significantly decreased compared baseline group. By comparing both techniques, pre insignificantly different.ABG postoperatively between different. Conclusions: Among media erosion, our study showed that PORP cement effectively improved levels when used reconstruction incudostapedial joint during tympanoplasty.

OBJECTIVES This study aims to compare the hearing outcomes after canal wall up mastoidectomy (CWUM) and canal wall down mastoidectomy (CWDM). PATIENTS AND METHODS Ninety-two patients (74 males, 18 females; mean age 30.1 years; range 9 to 67 years) who were diagnosed with chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) between January 2009 and May 2011 were enrolled in this retrospective study. متن کاملOssicular chain status in chronic suppurative otitis media in adults.
This study was conducted to find out the status of the ossicles in cases of chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM). One hundred and fifty cases of CSOM, who underwent surgery, were included and their intra-operative ossicular chain findings noted. Ossicular erosion was found to be much more common in unsafe CSOM than in safe CSOM. Malleus was found to be the most resistant ossicle to erosion w...

متن کاملUsefulness of a ventilation tube as a partial ossicular replacement prosthesis (PORP) in ossiculoplasty in patients with chronic otitis media
BACKGROUND The principal objective of ossiculoplasty is to reconstruct the sound-conducting system in the ear to the best possible degree after the elimination of pathological lesions from the middle ear. The ossicular chain is reconstructed with the use of the patient's own properly modelled ossicles and synthetic prostheses. The objective of the study was to assess the degree of hearing impro...

Clinical features are recurrent otorrhoea through a tympanic perforation, with conductive hearing loss of varying severity.
